How do I know if it will fit me?
Each garment on the site has detailed sizing charts and explanations. We try to give as much help as possible so you can choose a size right for you. Please refer to the sizing notes on each arcticle's page. These charts are guides only, please use your own discretion when choosing the best size for you.
If the fit isn't right, can I return it?
Yes. Return it in perfect condition within 14 days of dispatch (21 internationally) and we will send you another size if available. Else we will be happy to refund you. Please remember that Cock & Bull produces small runs and limited editions by hand and uses natural textiles, hand dying and plant based dyes. Where replacements are available, they may vary slightly in colour or textile texture. If a replacement is available that has a variation is in design, we will email you to discuss it. We recommend you contact us as soon as possible to secure the replacement item you want.
What is your return/exchange policy?
Please return merchandise with original tags and packaging, unwashed and unused. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. Please refer to “How do I return an item?” for detailed instructions. We are not always able to exchange. We recommend that you return the original item for a refund and purchase the desired item through the website as a separate transaction. Because of the limited nature of many of our products, if you are interested in making an exchange, we recommend purchasing your preferred size/item before sending back what you wish to return. This is the best way to ensure that you get the size or item you desire. Please see “How do I return an item?” for the correct return procedure.
How can I check the status of my order?
We will always send email updates about the status of your order. All orders within the UK will be sent by 2nd class Royal Mail recorded delivery. As soon as your order has been shipped, we will email you the tracking number and you can track it online. International customers have a range of options, but we HIGHLY recommend international signed for delivery, which for Royal Mail's small price, you can track your item, sign for your delivery and be guaranteed that your item will reach you pristine. We are unable to take liability for items lost in the international postal system. We retain proof of postage on all items shipped. So how green are you?
Cock and Bull Menswear are a young company, and so we're still refining our vision. Our intention is to create excellent design led clothing while treading lightly on the ecology of our planet. At this point that is being achieved by:
Looking carefully at our choices of textiles and and the processes involved in the making of a garment. Currently all fabrics (with the exception of tweed) used to make Cock & Bull garments are either organic (often certified by GOTS Global Organic Textile Standard] or Soil Association) OR can be said to be 'low impact' (as in the case of hemp).
Investigating alternative choices of said textiles and processes.
Choosing partnerships with responsible organisations. We won't do business with an organisation with reckless institutions. We invest our money with the Co-Operative bank, and wherever possible use carbon neutral transport companies.
Minimising our packaging, in particular plastic. As well as re-using plastic, we are looking into the integrity of corn based alternatives, and hope to move away from all plastic packaging in 2013.
Allocating a small percentage of our budget to offsetting carbon emissions caused by transporting and shipping our items.
Why do you manufacture in the UK?
UK manufacturing has been slowly eroded since in the 1980s the political vision for the UK first became focussed on the idea of a service based economy. We believe that this is shortsighted, and that the UK is losing skills that are both economically valuable, and valuable as a part of our culture and heritage. Also being impacted is economic diversity, and the flow of money domestically. Thats why Cock & Bull manufactures entirely in the UK and employs UK based artists and artisans. This is a huge issue, and would require a lot more space than a FAQ's page to do it justice. Also it is an ongoing issue, so please be sure to follow our blog to join the discussion.
