It has been 36 months since the concept of Cock & Bull Menswear was born. Back in the days when it was still just a glimmer in our eyes, we envisioned a collection of menswear staples that would marry good dependable design with sustainable textiles, local manufacturing and sound business practice.
Since then we have slowly developed all the items within the line at a pace that was condusive with ticking boxes across all of our business goals and practices. Those boxes included sourcing only the textiles we were convinced were being produced in a sustainable way i.e. using organic cottons, organic hemps, etc. and using handwoven textiles when possible which preserved livelihoods and traditional artisan methods in Scotland and India.
36 months along we are a litte less green about how to produce garments in a country that had a very high percentage of its clothing factory doors close in the 90's. Our commitment to producing in the UK has resulted in use being able to developing close relationships with our producers. We have a specific and skilled workforce producing the various elements of the range including traditional British hat makers in Yorkshire, weavers in Scotland , jean makers in Birmingham and shirt makers in London.
Our continued search for sustainable textiles has born fruit and we are very excited to be introducing new colours and textures throughout the year. For 2015 we are focused on adding around 12 new items to our line including long awaited jackets and coats (the first of which will be arriving for Spring. In addition, we will be looking for new outlets to carry the Cock & Bull Menswear line and so will be dipping our toes into the waters of wholesale distribution.
So it looks set to be another busy and exciting year for us with our focus firmly set on delivery more choice and being seen in more places.
